Ride the Rails Tour

We kick off this trip with a tour of the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum in Boone, a beautiful 9,000 sq. ft. facility featuring a research library, theater and displays with memorabilia from all eras of railroading in Iowa. Next up is Mamie Doud Eisenhower's birthplace, where you'll find an abundance of historical information about the 34th First Lady. The main event includes a delicious lunch in an actual dining car as you travel through the Des Moines River Valley in climate controlled comfort aboard a historic train on the Scenic Valley Railway. One last stop on the way home - always a crowd pleaser - a carousel ride in Story City.
