The Underground Railroad was neither underground nor a railroad, but a network of loosely connected safe havens for enslaved people on their journey to freedom. Join us as we learn about this historic journey and how Iowans played a crucial role to its success. We will visit the Jordan House in West Des Moines, the Hitchcock House in Lewis, and the Todd House in Tabor. You'll enjoy a catered group lunch at the Congregational Church.
